In all honesty, I do care very much about nature. I will always wait for spring and summer when the grass is so green and the birds are singing. But as much as I care, I cannot help what is happening to our world and the effects it’s having on nature. I feel almost useless when it comes to saving our environment. Despite that, I will always care.
questions
“Something that inspires me to learn about nature is the wonder of nature’s creations – the rainbows, the peacocks, the supernovas, and the clouds. All pose questions about nature, should you care enough.”
keep going!
“I want to learn about nature so I can know how it is supposed to be—how to take what we have now and make it into what it needs to be. We may not fix everything, but we have to try. Let’s keep going!”
plankton
“Nature to me is the unkept floors of the forests, the squares of grass and trees throughout the city, and the rain that falls from the sky to nourish our crops. Nature to me means all the phenomenon that is not man made, from the Earth’s clouds and crust to the sun’s radiation. Nature is also animals to me, nature is the circle of life that has existed since the first plankton.”
foolishness
“I care about nature because it has provided for us since the dawn of humanity. It is for this reason I believe we should be kind to the Earth, it will be here for our demise, so the least we could do is appease the Earth for its benevolent present. We should also love the Earth because the Earth is beautiful, and to let it rot would be foolish.”
alive
“Nature is able to give us food, it’s able to give us materials, it’s able to give us shelter. Nature is what kept us alive for so long.”
to burn
“I feel very worried about nature’s future—about how the oceans could rise taking our cities and ports, about how the ozone layer could disappear and lead all life on land to burn.”
my part
“I am hopeful that all generations will make the environment what it is supposed to be. I am skeptical about how much we can actually fix. I am curious about how we will work it out, what part I will play and what part everyone will play in this world.”
give back
“If we mess up the earth where will we go? We must stay to undo the harm we have done, to give back what we have taken.”
even humans
“To me nature is anything that comes directly from the earth. This can be plants, animals, water, air, lava—even humans are part of nature.”
