Nature means everything natural in this world, and it must be protected at all costs.
inner child
My inner child has always been fascinated by and felt an innate responsibility to protect the earth.
not giving up
There’s so much happening that threatens our natural world, that it can be overwhelming. But even with all that worry, I’m not planning on giving up on nature. Even in the face of uncertainty, I believe that persistence and innovative solutions can make a difference.
for malls
When I hear the word “nature” the first things that comes to my mind are forests and ecosytems. And, I also think about how we are messing with nature by cutting down trees to build things like malls.
kiss of freedom
Nature means freedom. In a world like ours where climate change is constantly changing our environment, nature is my safe space, a runaway home. When things go wrong and all feels lost, going up into the deepest parts of the Rocky Mountains to view the beautiful lakes and forest makes it feel like I am one with the trees. The silence of the wind that flow between the trees give me peace. I can almost feel all the stress slip off my shoulders the moment I feel that gust of wind. It’s like Mother nature kissing my presence.
knowing and learning
Nature itself inspires me. Its beauty really just makes me want to know more, and learn more.
environmental science
People should take at least one environmental science class to be able to identify issues, self-reflect on their experiences, and plan what they can do to help—whether that is advocating for legislation or picking up trash from the streets.
family
Nature is such a big part of Colorado, and my family. We spend so much time hiking together, from our neighborhood stairs that climb to the top of a hill, to fourteeners with streams, waterfalls, flowers, and berries along the trail. We get to share conversation and treats with others at the top. It’s the best bonding experience there is.
simple gifts
Nature is a grounding force and a constant source of inspiration. It’s where I feel most at peace, surrounded by the beauty and simplicity of the natural world. I’m reminded that I’m part of something much bigger than myself. Nature gives me a sense of wonder and gratitude, and it encourages me to slow down and appreciate life’s simple gifts.
learning
Learning about nature is learning about ourselves.
