I’m semi-hopeful, but I realize that political trends around the world can, unfortunately, dramatically change my outlook from hopeful to skeptical.

driving force
There is hope if we can act responsibly. We face severe challenges like climate change, pollution, deforestation, and the worst of all – human ignorance. The growing movement towards sustainability is the driving force in my hope of a future with nature.
hope and fight
With how things are going, all we can do is hold out hope and fight for a better future.
our job
Nature represents innocence and beauty in a world that seems to intentionally root those traits out. Our most important job as humans, and as the dominant species on this planet, is to be good stewards to the environment. We should be able to say we are proud of the world we’re passing to our kids.
visitors
Nature can be chaotic, wise, delicate, and dangerous, and above all, adaptable. No matter what humans will build or destroy, nature will continue to evolve and be a quiet reminder that we are simply visitors here.
essential
I do care about nature because without nature, meaning without clean air, water food, and other materials, I wouldn’t be where I am today. Nature is essential for our every day lives.
curiosity
I am both hopeful and curious. I hope we can find ways to stop the damage that we’ve done to the Earth but still explore it respectfully and responsibly with curiosity.
peace and belonging
Nature to me is everything that humans have not touched, or at least have not ‘civilized’. I believe that nature is more intuitive, as in ‘you’ll know it when you feel it’, because you’ll (hopefully) feel a sense of peace and belonging.
reminder
Nature is a constant reminder that we are a part of something bigger than ourselves.
delicate
Nature to me is such a delicate, beautiful and complex system that should be protected. Nature gives all living organisms a place to call home.
